The BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse includes an updated Eclipse Software Update for the BlackBerry SDK v5.0. The Eclipse Software Update includes updated APIs such as the OpenGL API.

The BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse is an Eclipse plug-in that improves productivity by providing an integrated BlackBerry smartphone specific development, debugging and simulation workflow. The BlackBerry Java Plug-in for Eclipse has been updated to better fit within the Eclipse environment, making it easier to develop in Eclipse.

The release increases productivity by integrating with time-saving Eclipse features and offers a getting started page, as well as the ability to target multiple BlackBerry smartphone OSs in single workspace, improving the development cycle.

* PC with Intel Pentium 4 processor or compatible (2.5 GHz or higher, 2 GB RAM, 1.5 GB HD free)
* Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 6, update 10 or later.
