ClassifyIT Description

ClassifyIt is an Add-In to Microsoft Office Outlook and Word, of the Office2000 and later products

During installation please ensure that all Office applications are closed to permit ClassifyIT to properly register as an Add-In to Outlook - otherwise restart Outlook after installation.

ClassifyIT is an add-on module for Microsoft (R) Office (TM) 2000 and higher.
It provides functionality to add classification tags to the top of emails and to the header/footer of documents.
All classification tags are customisable to the individual requirements of the business needs.

Applicability

ClassifyIT should be used in all computer systems that have the requirement to handle and control different levels of classified or sensitive information. To ensure the proper handling and dissemination of such classified or sensitive information it is key to mark and label the document, containing the information, with an appropriate classification marking. Such markings could be legally required in governmental or supranational computer systems, or business required by a company or consortium.

Beside a classification ClassifyIT supports useful caveats to clearly mark the approved dissemination of an email or document, a translation feature and additional caveats.

Quick Select Selection

This selection is an option to provide the user with 'normal' or often used classification and release markings. This is an easy and intuitive drop-down menu with a descriptive selection of the real classification and release marking.

During the installation process the ClassifyIt Add-In and configuration files are installed in the %PROGRAM FOLDER%\ClassifyIt directory (e.g. C:\Program Files\ClassifyIt). This program directory can not be changed. Also this readme document is in that folder.

After installation the Add-In is directly usable.

After installation the ClassifyIt toolbar is available on all opened or new created emails and on all Word documents.
