Email WAN IP Address Description

A utility that automatically checks your network’s WAN (Wide Area Network) Address

Email WAN IP Address is a utility that automatically checks your network’s WAN (Wide Area Network) Address and emails or texts a message to the address or addresses and / or mobile computing device you specify. This is important in case you are using VNC or some other application that requires knowing the IP at the other end. Our software’s service is performed on a timer and notifies those you list only in the event the IP address changes.

For those with a Dynamic IP, a change is likely every time you log on. Otherwise, your ISP may renew your IP lease periodically without you knowing.

Add and remove email recipients

Place all the Email addresses you would like to receive a message from Email WAN IP Address from. You can select or de-select them at any time by adding or removing the checkmark on the main window.

Add Phone Numbers

For those who need immediate gratification, Email WAN IP Address will send a text message to your mobile phone device. As above, just enter the phone number, select a provider (Verizon, T-Mobile, etc) and it will be added to the list.

Enter all the numbers you might want to send a text message to. Once the number is added, select or de-select the checkboxes on the main window. This will enable or disable sending text by adding or removing the check mark.

Add Social Networking

This feature allows you to add social networking accounts to your notification list. As of right now the only service available is twitter. Coming soon in the future will be Facebook, LinkedIn, and MySpace.

To add an account simply input your username and password for your twitter account. The application will validate your credentials, and then you will receive updates via direct message when your WAN address changes.

Email Content

Set Email Content allows the user to pick the information to return. Click on each box that you want to see or click on “Select All” to grab them all. The choices are:

- Default IP Gateway
- DNS Host Name
- Service Name
- Description
- DNS Server Search Order
- WINS Primary Server
- DHCP Lease Expires
- IP Address
- WINS Secondary Server
- DHCP Lease Obtained
- IP Subnet
- DHCP Server
- MAC Address

History of Past IP Address's

Email WAN IP Address keeps a list of all the changes to the target systems IP. This is a text file that is easily read by any text editor and is persistant for an extended period of time.

In addition, errors in retrieving the IP are also logged with additional information about the details of the error. In the event these errors are chronic, this information is uesful in diagnosing the cause.

Customize Theme

This window allows the user to select colors for Email WAN IP Address. Select any of the several standard colors on the left by clicking on the boxes or pick a custom color on the right half of the window by clicking on the color of your choice and then adjust the intensity of that color with the slider on the far right.
