FreeWish Description

Turn your PC into social networking website, share photo,music,video,blog

Once FreeWish is installed in your PC, it instantly turns your PC into a social networking website, where you can publish your personal photo, music, video, bookmark, document, blogs, and share them online, whether they are just a few or in thousands. You can further define access groups to regulate who can access what contents. Good for working group and sharing environment. Content loading is simple, just specify the folder location of the contents in your local hard drive and designate the type of the contents, then click a button to start an automatic processing process, boom, all the contents are mapped into your website. A web-based user interface is provided for your website directory browsing and contents management. Advanced users can assembly their own pages and templates, and define the cascade style sheet info of a page and the embedded components in the page. It works best under Internet Explorer 6 or later and require system minimum of 1GHz, 512MB RAM.

* The construction of a page is based on a pyramid structure which features from the very original sources or raw materials to the upper most complex mashup. The key component here is Mosaic which is hanged on a page at a position specified by horizontal X and vertical Y integer value. Mosaics with same X values on a page automatically form an html table. At the very bottom, a Mosaic is bound to all sorts of digital raw materials or functions, after that, Mosaics are piled up on a new Mosaic just as Mosaics are piled up on a page.

* Directory tree operations are provided for such functions as hanging a Mosaic over a branch of pages, modifying access rights over a branch of pages, searching, css file automatic updating, etc.

* SearchBox, a search function over directory tree, is implemented for obtaining an index listing, which subsequently can be hanged on a page or a branch of pages for easy directory browsing and website navigation. The dynamic pick-up nature of a SearchBox makes it very useful.

* FreeWish is built on major open source products including but not limited to Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE), Apache Tomcat, Apache Derby database. Java, JavaScript, AJAX, DHTML, DOM, CSS technologies are heavily implemented.
