Java2D Image Viewer Description

A stand-alone application that allows loading, saving,rendering, and manipulation of JPEG, GIF

The Java 2DImage Viewer is a stand-alone application that allows loading, saving,rendering, and manipulation of JPEG, GIF and PNG images. This application was developed using the APIs developed in the book Building Imaging Applications with Java Technology: Using AWT Imaging, Java 2D and Java Advanced Imaging. The Java 2D Viewer is an example in Chapter7 of this book, which is available as a sample chapter at the Addison-Wesley Web site for this book. You can also download the entire source code(visframework.zip) and the Java docs from this site.

Main Features:

oReads JPEG, GIF, and PNG images.
oSupports three different viewing modes:

1.Original Size:The image is displayed with original size
2.To Fit: The image is displayed to fit the view port both in the x and y direction.
3.Scaled: The image's displayed to fit the view port with aspect ratio preserved.

oAllows geometrical manipulation of the displayed image.

Supports the following manipulation functions that can be interactively performed at any position and in any order.

1.Pan

+Scrolls the image when you drag the mouse.

2.Zoom

+Supports Zoom in or Zoom out. The position at which the mouse is clicked is the magnification center.

3.Rotate

+Provides a slider to rotate the image.

4.Flip

+Supports Left-to-Right,Top_to-Bottom, and Left-to-Right_Top_to-Bottom. Images can be flipped atany position.

oProvides a movable Lenseto magnify only the desired portion of the image.
oPrints the displayed image.
oSaves the displayed image as JPEG.
