Kaliro Calendar Sync Description

Useful software to sync your calendars

Kaliro Calendar Sync provides the following advantages over Google Calendar Sync:

* Support for Lotus Notes
* Greater control over the handling of alerts, including the ability to add up to two extra alerts.
* Notification of calendar events on your computer.
* Support for multiple synchronizations.
If you work for multiple organisations, you can set up each one within Calendar Sync, and optionally specify that they should only synchronize when you are logged on to a specific account.
* Portability
If run from a USB drive, Calendar Sync will automatically store the configuration on the USB drive. Therefore, if you move to another computer, your synchronizations move with you. Note that in this case, you should use a Master Password to encrypt the passwords to your calendars, to protect against losing your USB drive.
* Remotely access your Exchange calendar.
If you work in different locations, you may not have access to configure Outlook appropriately, and so Google Calendar Sync will not work. By synchronizing directly with Exchange, Kaliro Calendar Sync overcomes this issue.

How does Calendar Sync store information?

All of your synchronizations are stored in “KaliroCalendarSync.xml”. This file is either in your usual “My Documents” folder, or in a “My Documents” folder on a USB drive if running from a USB drive. Note that this file holds the passwords to your calendars. If you do not use a Master Password, these passwords will be in plain text. If you do use a Master Password, they will be encrypted using this password. Under this scenario, every time Calendar Sync starts, you will be prompted to enter the Master Password, so that Calendar Sync can decrypt the passwords. If you forget the Master Password, it can be reset, but this will clear all existing passwords and set each synchronization to disabled (since they would not work without passwords anyway). You must then re-enter each password and re-enable each synchronization.
