MeGlobe is a next generation communications company based in Los Angeles, California. Our free web application, MeGlobe, integrates instant messaging (IM) with real-time translation technology.

How?
Signing up is easy, just click the Sign up button on our homepage, fill in some basic information, that's it! You can now locate a buddy on MeGlobe or your existing IM networks. Type in a message, and watch it be instantly translated into your friend’s native tongue and vice-versa.
Since MeGlobe is web based there is nothing to download or install.
What languages do you support?
MeGlobe offers IM translation between 15 different languages. Including, Spanish, French and German to name a few. Don't have the language your looking for? Keep chatting unilingually and we will update you when we have what you need!

We realize that machine translation (MT) is mediocre at best, and we're working on making it better. BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP!
If you see a translation that looks a little off or just doesn’t make sense, you can help by making an edit. Simply click the pencil Edit Button to contribute. Your chat partner will also be aware that you are making an edit. All Done? Your translation should now be correct.
Every time a member of our community Edits a translation MeGlobe learns to become a better translator. In addition to retaining the speed and privacy of traditional machine translation, this approach will eventually provide you with the highest possible quality translations. This is why we like to think of MeGlobe as being community powered!

Nice UI, it has an iChat type feel which I like, even better that it's web based as I can't install anything here at school. Translations are pretty decent, I have 4 years of French and they're fairly accurate, accurate enough to be able to easily communicate with someone who doesn't speak your language. |
