myTimeZone for eBay Description

Converts eBay times to your local time zone

myTimeZone is an extension for the Firefox web browser which automatically converts dates found on eBay pages to your local time zone on-the-fly.
It accurately adjusts for daylight savings time according to your local DST rules and the DST rules of the eBay server's location.

You can customize many details of the date display format to enhance readability:

* Use 24 or 12 hour time format with AM/PM indicators
* Substitute words like "Today" and "Tomorrow" for actual dates.
* Use the word "at" to separate date and time for better readability.
* Suppress the display of seconds in the time portion of the date if you like.
* Choose from 4 different date formats in either U.S. or European style.
* Add the name of the day of the week to the date.
* Customize the display of "AM" or "PM" to use periods or lower case if you prefer.
* The extension can be turned on or off without having to restart Firefox.

As well as converting any dates it finds within regular eBay pages, it also updates your browser's title bar text with the converted date and converts dates found on more specialized pages like the Item Revision page, Bid History page, etc. It even converts dates on the eBay message boards to your local time.

Basically, if it finds any typically formatted eBay date inside the page, it converts it!

Setup is a snap. You don't have to specify your time zone, etc. It automatically detects and converts dates upon installation with built in rules and formulas for determining daylight savings time. Once you've specified how you like your dates formatted it's a "set and forget" extension.

This extension works for the following English speaking eBay web sites:

* eBay US (ebay.com)
* eBay Canada (ebay.ca - English site)
* eBay UK (ebay.co.uk)
* eBay Australia (ebay.com.au)
* eBay Ireland (ebay.ie)

It also allows you to sort listings by total price including shipping and performs currency conversion all automatically.

Other features include:
- a real-time auction countdown timer with the ability to play an alarm when a specified amount of time remains before the auction ends.
- A bid update feature which can automatically update the screen with current bid information for an item.

It has a lot of extra features to make eBay work a little easier. It is extremely customizable and features can be enabled or disabled individually.

DATE/TIME CONVERSION:
- Automatically converts any times it finds on eBay pages to your local time. Intelligently adjusts for Daylight Savings time regardless of where you are located!
- Converts almost ANY date/time it finds on ANY eBay page, not just search listings.

- Gives you lots of options to customize the display of dates/times to be more readable:
- Use 24 or 12 hour time format with AM/PM indicators
- Substitute words like "Today" and "Tomorrow" for actual dates.
- Use the word "at" to separate date and time for better readability.
- Suppress the display of seconds in the time portion of the date if you like.
- Choose from 4 different date formats in either U.S. or European style.

- Show an asterisk (or any characters you want) next to times which have been converted to your local time.

COUNTDOWN TIMER:
- Option to display a countdown timer on the Item Detail page which adds a real-time running countdown timer showing hours, minutes and seconds remaining until end of auction.

TOTAL PRICE CALCULATION:
- Automatically adds another column to search listings showing an item's total price including shipping. Now when sorting by price, listings will be sorted by total price and not bid price alone.
- Ability to highlight Total Prices which don't include shipping in red to make them easier to spot.

CURRENCY CONVERSION:
- Option to automatically show total prices in any of 15 currencies. Search results containing listings in different currencies can now be compared much more easily.

- Currency conversion rates are updated hourly and can be updated instantly from within the options dialog.
- Option to automatically update currency rates in the background to keep conversion rates up to date.

BID UPDATE FEATURE:
- When using the auction timer feature, myTimeZone can instantly and automatically monitor bid prices in the background and update your screen when anything changes as well as play an audible alert if the bid price changes.

CONVENIENCE and ANNOYANCE FEATURES:
- Have myTimeZone automatically sign you into eBay whenever a sign-in page is detected.
- Additional convenient navigation area can be added to the top of search results pages to eliminate the need to scroll to the bottom of the page for navigation.
- Show or hide the featured items section on search results pages.
- Show or hide the matching results section found at the top of search results pages.
- Automatically skip sign-in pages containing eBay advertisements.

TIME SYNCH FEATURE:
- myTimeZone can automatically check your computer's clock to ensure it is in synch with eBay official time. If it is not, you will be alerted so you can adjust your clock.
