Offers network file locking while local files are in use and integrates seamlessly with PeerSync
PeerLock Server offers network file locking while local files are in use and integrates seamlessly with PeerSync Server and PeerSync High Volume Server. This innovative program ensures that when a user is modifying a file, no other user will be allowed to make changes to that file on any machine that the user has chosen to lock.
PeerLock Server gives you:
Real-Time Detection of File Use and Immediate Remote Locking.
Instant File Locking and Synchronization.
Easy Installation and Unobtrusive Operation.
PeerLock Server contains the following features:
* Source/Target Folder File Mask:
Each Source/Target pair contains an option for masking of file types you wish to include.
* Support for UNC folder/path names:
This includes dynamic mapped drive creation, as well as local drives.
* Reporting:
This option allows for log file reporting.
* Support for Cross Domain Locking:
PeerLock includes network logon credentials configuration which allow the user to configure specific source or target folder connections for file locking to locations requiring different credentials than the ones used by the PeerLock service or application.
* Allow Access based on Source File:
This feature adds the ability to Lock Target Files with the same access based on the Source File. When using this feature files on the source and their corresponding target(s) will be accessible by other users in the same manner: i.e. you cannot open the file, you can open the file for read access or you can open the file for read and write access. This is an important feature for applications that open some files for read and write access and other related files for read access, as well as, applications that just open Source Files for read access (such as for CAD resource files).
* Failed Connections Retry:
PeerLock stores failed connections and retries them on a ten minute cycle. This option improves overall performance when connection losses occur.
* Internal File Management - Cache Management:
These features have been added to track and remove temporary files used by PeerLock. There are options to enable the caching, clear the cache at the start of locking and to clear the cache manually on demand.
* Ability to manipulate Locked List:
The user is able to release locks from the PeerLock Locked list as well as perform additional actions for the specific file
