RAR Recovery Tool efficiently repairs unreadable RAR archives

RAR is one of the most popular archive formats that has been on the market for years. File compression allows users to save hard drive space and makes it easier to exchange information online. However, since RAR archives are just regular files residing on your HDD or portable drives, they are just as vulnerable to file corruption that may take place for any known reason. When a RAR file becomes unreadable, this problem can be solved with the help of Recovery Toolbox for RAR. This program was specifically designed to efficiently extract data from corrupted RAR archives and will show you how to repair WinRAR archives. This WinRAR archive repair tool supports all RAR format versions and is capable of recovering data from broken archives with various compression levels generated by a broad range of archivers. Besides recovering data from local files, it fully supports recovery from portable media and accessible network locations. Recovery Toolbox for RAR also has no problems recovering files from password-protected RAR files.

The user interface is a simple and intuitive step-by-step wizard allowing you to perform one operation a time. The entire process is very simple, so even if you don't know how to repair WinRar archive file, it won't be a problem at all. The first step allows you to select a damaged RAR file. The easiest way to do it is to use Windows Explorer to narrow your selection down to .rar or .exe (self-extracting archives) files. Once you've selected the damaged file you want to work with, you can proceed to the next step of the wizard by clicking the Next button. This will start the file analysis process and will show a progress bar. The duration of this recovery stage directly depends on the speed of your PC and the size of the damaged archive.

Once the WinRAR file repair software has finished analyzing the corrupted archive file, it displays a list of files and folders it managed to identify. At this step, the program window is split into two sections: the left part showing the tree of folders in the damaged file and the right part with the contents of the currently selected folder. Files and their attributes are displayed in the form of a table containing the following information: file name, compressed and regular sizes, header and file shift values, error name and checksum.

The most important indicators, however, are special colored icons standing next to all file names. They reflect the degree to which every file was damaged and the probability of its complete recovery. Unfortunately, this (and any other) WinRAR file repair software does not guarantee that all of the information stored in a damaged RAR file can be recovered. If the damage is serious, it is physically impossible to reconstruct some files within an archive. Files with a high chance of successful recovery blue icons, yellow icons indicate a moderate chance of success and red ones are not likely to be recovered at all.

This WinRAR archive repair tool allows you to preview the contents of damaged RAR archives and select the filed you need restored by checking boxes next to them. You can also use additional selection controls to speed up the process: Check All (selects all the files), Check Good (select all files that are most likely to be recovered) and Uncheck All (clears the selection).
