SQLite Maestro Description

A powerful Windows GUI solution for SQLite databases administration and development

SQLite Maestro is designed to meet the requirements of SQLite users and to make the work with the server still simpler and more comfortable:

* all versions of SQLite up to 3.x.x support, including support for UTF-8 data;
* user-friendly interface with navigation style, well-described wizard system, quick launch panel for performing the commonest operations. You can choose between tabbed MDI interface and classic one;
* the easiest way of SQLite objects (e.g. views, queries) management;
* handy implementation and stable running of the client application;
* powerful tools for working with SQL queries including Visual Query Builder;
* flexible customization of the application.

With all its features SQLite Maestro will be an everyday assistant in your work with SQLite databases.

The list of useful features provided for SQLite Maestro users can be continued. The following advanced features are provided for your use:

* easy database management: the conception of database profiles gives you the opportunity to connect to databases in one touch and work with the selected databases only;
* powerful BLOB viewer/editor: opportunity to view and edit the content of the BLOB fields in various representations;
* data export module: exports data from SQLite tables and queries to files of the 14 most popular formats including MS Excel, MS Access, MS Word, HTML, XML, PDF;
* data import module: imports data to SQLite tables from files of the following formats: MS Excel, MS Access, XML, DBF, TXT and CSV.

The list above is not complete. SQLite Maestro allows you, for example, to create a new table in a few mouse clicks, to get SQL dump of your metadata and data (even without knowing the syntax), to execute any SQL script, to copy a table from one database to another by drag-n-drop operations or by pressing Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V hot key combinations and a lot of other features.

Database Management:

Create Database Wizard guides you through the process of creating a new database.

To run the wizard select the Database | Create New Database... main menu item or click the Create Database button on the main toolbar.

To start working with SQLite databases in SQLite Maestro you should first create a database profile or several database profiles using Create Database Profiles Wizard.

To run the wizard select the Database | Create Database Profiles... main menu item or use the Shift+Ctrl+P hot key combination. You can also click the Create Database Profiles button on the main toolbar.

Database Explorer is the basic feature of SQLite Maestro which allows you to perform almost all necessary operations upon databases and their objects.

The Database Explorer field occupies the left side of SQLite Maestro main window. Use it to create new database objects, duplicate, rename and open object editors. The explorer also provides quick view of object properties available through the corresponding popup menu item.

SQLite Maestro provides you with powerful tools to manage database objects. Wizards and editors designed for creating, editing and dropping database objects in different ways are at your disposal.

The Create Database Object dialog allows you to select the type of the object to be created and run the appropriate wizard (or open the appropriate editor).

To open the dialog select the Object | Create Database Object... main menu item.

You can also use Duplicate Object Wizard to create a new database object with the same properties as one of the existing objects has.

Select the Object | Duplicate Database Object... main menu item to run the wizard.

Object Manager is a tool aimed at operating on database objects efficiently.

The tool is designed as an extension of Database Explorer with advanced features (such as multiple selecting of objects (for copying, dropping, etc.) and the ability of using drag-and-drop operations between Object Manager and Database Explorer as well as between two instances of Object Manager) implemented.

Queries and Scripts:

If you intend to use SQLite Maestro for working with SQL queries and scripts, the most powerful (and at the same time easy!) tools are at your fingertips.

SQL Editor is the basic SQLite Maestro tool for creating and executing queries.

The editor allows you to create and edit SQL text for the query, prepare and execute queries and view the results of execution. It also includes such useful features as syntax highlighting, links, code folding, and code auto completion.

Visual Query Builder is meant for building queries visually.

You can create and edit queries even without knowledge of SQL: preparing and executing queries, viewing the results of the execution become simple operations when performed with the help of Visual Query Builder.

Using SQL Script Editor you can view, edit and execute SQL scripts.

To open the editor it is only necessary to select the Tools | SQL Script Editor main menu item. Within the editor you are able to perform all the necessary operations with SQL scripts.
