Total Network Monitor Description

Control over the efficiency of your network

Total Network Monitor is a software for the continuous control over the efficiency of your network, separate computers, network and system utilities that make the essence of your network place and need to be thoroughly monitored. Total Network Monitor will alert you in case of failures and unpredictable errors by many ways before situation becomes threatening to your work. It will build a detailed report on the type and time of the error or failure. You always have an opportunity to check any aspect of this or that utility, server or file system: HTTP, FTP, SMTP/POP3, IMAP, Event Log, Service State, Registry and many other. To all these benefits network map and user-friendly interface make your work with the software the most demonstrable.

The time when you were running from one computer to another for checking the state of certain utilities and applications and waiting for complaints of the annoyed users is irrevocably gone. Total Network Monitor allows you to create monitor lists and customize them as much as possible according to your needs. Just press "Check All Monitors" and you always get an updated information about the state of all network computers and utilities ran on them.

Flexible network monitoring

Your each network monitoring project includes three important object groups: devices, monitors and actions. Each device can comprise one or more monitors. A monitor consists of a probe and a list of actions. In case of probe failure a certain monitor will run its list of actions intended for your quick alerting about predictable failure. Total Network Monitor gives you an ultimately convenient opportunity to monitor the state of devices and monitors.
Specific probes

Total Network Monitor has a variety of probes divided into three big groups: Internet, Windows and Miscellaneous. Press "Add Monitor", select probe type, set main parameters, run it and the state of the remote utility will immediately come up before your eyes. Do you want to check server performance? Here come ICMP, TCP, HTTP, POP/SMTP, FTP, IMAP. If you need Windows utilities select any of Registry, Event Log or Service State. It's not a problem to check the remote file system: File Existence, Size, Count, Compare, Disk Space are at your full disposal. Remember, with every following version of Total Network Monitor the number of probes is getting higher.
Actions and event record

If you are away from your computer where Total Network Monitor is running you can always find out if something goes wrong. Just add a new action to your monitor which will allow to send message to your mail box or your Jabber client, to run a separate application or to execute script, to reboot a remote computer or utility or just to make a record into a selected log-file. Anyway Total Network Monitor will build a detailed report on this project monitoring.
Scan Wizard

There is nothing easier than to find computers and other network devices in the network in order to add them to your personal monitoring project. You just need to run Scan Wizard and make several simple steps. First of all, add the ranges of addresses you want to scan, set few scanning options, the rest will be done by Scan Wizard for you. You can enter a group name as well as devices type and name. After confirmation the selected devices will be immediately added to your project.
Network map
Besides arranging the devices into various groups Total Network Monitor also allows you to build a demonstrative map of your network. After adding a new computer to your project it will automatically appear on the map. The only thing you need to do is just join it to already existing devices and a conclusive plan of your network is ready. Did at least one probe fail? No reasons to worry! Total Network Monitor will automatically change an icon of the appropriate device and there is no need for you to go back to the device tree.
User-friendly interface
Software interface is designed to be your all-seeing eye. Any important feature is just one click away from you. Program window is divided into three toolbars: device tree, monitors and event list. Device tree allows you to arrange your nodes into groups. If at least one probe fails, the appropriate device and group will be marked appropriately. Just select a device or group to see all its monitors and their state.
