We have released Troi Serial Plug-in 3.0.2. Version 3.0.2 fixes is a maintenance release, which fixes some bug. At the same time we reduced the price for the cross platform developer license to US$999, as saving of $100.
What can Troi Serial Plug-in do for you?
With Troi Serial you can connect to multiple serial ports and read and write data to them all directly from FileMaker! Since the beta we fixed some bugs, and significantly improved the speed of triggering scripts.

For FileMaker Pro 8.5
Troi Serial Plug-in 3 was completely rewritten to be FileMaker Pro 7 native, allowing it to make use of the advanced possibilities, like multiple, self-explanatory parameters and support for Unicode.
Troi Serial Plug-in runs natively with FileMaker Pro 8.5 and FileMaker Advanced 8.5, but also with FileMaker Pro 7 and FileMaker Pro 8. The Mac OS X version is a Universal plug-in which runs natively on PowerPC and Intel Macs. (it also still runs on Windows).
For those users who are still working with FileMaker 5 through 6, we offer a classic Troi Serial Plug-in version 2.6.
Easy troubleshooting!
Troi Serial Plug-in still has a great debug function, making setup of databases a breeze for our users. You can now troubleshoot by testing the arrival of data at the serial port and you can test script triggering too.
No more quitting
Troi Serial Plug-in 3 can be reinitialized without quitting FileMaker Pro. This makes it possible to accommodate new or different serial ports dynamically, for example when you plug in a USB serial adapter.
And more ...
Another powerful feature is getting the last match string (for example the last line) that was received. And you can now change the separator between parameters. This is useful for Japanese systems, where port names contain the pipe character.
What are the costs?
Troi Serial is a very specialized plug-in, with a limited customer base. To be able to make the conversion viable we had to make the new version of Troi Serial Plug-in more expensive than our other plug-ins.
We currently only sell a cross-platform developer license for US$ 1099 which allows you to deploy it with your solution, both on Mac OS X as on Windows.
We currently don't have an upgrade option for single licenses. We only have an upgrade option for developer licenses for US$ 899. Please contact us if you have any questions about this. |
