* Many substantial enhancements have been realized to significantly speed up file transfer and reduce the utilization of system resources.
* The implementation of the SFTP protocol (SSH) has been optimized to enable much faster file transfers in this mode as well. The file list on the server is no longer refreshed after each upload, but only when the transfer has been completed.
* New Update Manager: Now shows important news and announcements in addition to available updates.
* The listing of directory contents containing large data volumes has been improved.
* The transfer mode for directories has been enhanced: now, directories are first added to the transfer list and then transferred. This also allows easy abortion of individual transfers.
* Deleting files and directories on a server has been optimized and now works faster.
* Searching for files on remote servers has been optimized. The search operation can now be aborted at any time.
* A new program option has been added which allows you to specify a size for the folder used for temporary Quick View files.
* Various new types of FTP servers are now supported.
* Easier selection of a compression method for uploads/downloads.
* Modified program behavior when a data file is dragged onto the WISE-FTP program icon (drag-and-drop): The application starts and displays the Site Manager dialog box.
* Improved display of currently active directories to make clear which files/directories will be affected by an upload/download.
* Faster deletion of transfers from the transfer list.
* Enhancements of the user interface: Frequently needed commands can now be called from the context menu.
* Paste function implemented for the local system view.
* Improved processing of user's changes in the Site Manager dialog box.
* Enhanced support for scripting functionality.
* A status bar has been added to both the Local System and the Remote System views to help identify the selected objects ready to be transferred and to povide easy access to filters.
* Several program errors and text/help issues have been fixed. |
