Nowadays, handling software regression problems has become an integral part of every day software development. .NET teams all around the world invest a great deal of time developing and maintaining unit tests to cover the code of the features they develop. One painful problem - automatic tests fail on a regular basis, and when it happens, the unit test owner need to start the annoying process of debugging the unit test to understand which one of the latest code changes caused the unit test to fail, and fix it. Many times, the owner of the unit test finds out eventually that another team member caused the unit test to fail, which is usually very frustrating.

WiseTester is a product for .NET developers suffering from unit test regression. It integrates into the Visual Studio, collecting information regarding the changes you made during your development session. When you finish developing a feature or a bug fix, you usually would like to run your unit tests, to verify that your changes haven't caused any damage to already existing features. If one of the unit tests fail due to your recent changes, the WiseTester allows you to run a test analysis for this unit test, and should point the code changes which caused the unit test to fail, saving you the time and energy to debug it in order to understand what caused the failure.

For unit tests which fail due to recent changes that occurred by other team members and committed into the source control system, the test owner can also use the WiseTester in order to run a test analysis which integrates into any supported source control system, and point the change set which caused the unit test to fail.

1. IDE Oriented Unit Test Analysis
This is a test analysis which is based on the information collected during the development cycle. Its strength is the possibility to point the problematic code changes, which caused the unit test to fail, in a good resolution, many times in the code-line resolution.

2. Source-Control Oriented Unit Test Analysis
This is a test analysis which is based on information retrieved from the source control system (if supported). Its strength is the possibility to point problematic changes committed by other team members.

No internal code instrumentation is required. Setting up an environment should be quick & easy.

The developer can run the test analysis by simply right click on the test attribute of the unit test which failed (see list of supported unit testing frameworks), and select the test analysis he would like to apply from the WiseTester sub-menu.

5. Full Automation & Daily Build Integration
The developer can automate the unit test analysis using the WiseTester command line, and by that integrate it into the daily builds or even in the unit test execution on his machine.
